TomoDomo (共 々) means “together” in Japanese, Tomo (共) by itself stands for friend and community.

We started this company to create homes for people to connect with each other, enjoy life and grow from shared experiences.

Important Information for your move

Before arrival
  • Download Slack on your phone and join our Slack channel via this link. Kindly log in as soon as you can and start discovering the community and its members.


  • Please introduce yourself on Slack with a short message in #introduction. Please also join our google drive and read the documents before arrival.


  • You will receive an email with your detailed move-in information. Kindly inform us about your exact arrival time and date to make sure that you will have access to the building.


  • Please pack your own bedsheets, duvet & pillow.

Arrival
  • Check-in is possible from the start of your booking after 12:00.


  • Arrival by Car/Uber/Taxi: The address is Limmatstrasse 118, 8005 Zurich. Please note that there is no parking onsite.


  • Arrival by Train/Bus: Take the train to Zurich HB. From there you can take a tram Nr. 4, 6, 8, 11 or 13 to Limmatplatz.


  • Upon your arrival please check your room and note all damages/questions and enter them at www.tomodomo.ch/support. Please greet everyone you meet and introduce yourself. Feel free to ask any member you meet any question you have. Remember we are here to help each other.

Keep it clean

One of the key points of living together is creating a tidy, clean and welcoming space for everyone in the community. Living with others comes with many benefits and each and everyone is responsible to create and maintain the „home sweet home“ atmosphere in the house. TomoDomo provides a weekly professional cleaning of the shared spaces.

However, it’s important that everyone clean as they go, help keeping the spaces clean and tidy. We love to follow the rule: Leave the common area in better condition than you found it, especially after you hosted an event.


Kindly help keep all spaces clean, take garbage bags to the container at the back of the house, fill and empty the dishwashers and help with the recycling, etc. Please handle all items with care as it is your shared home.

Socializing

One of the most popular activities in the Coliving is....Cooking, inspiring, chatting (and cleaning: ) together. We believe that sharing a meal is one of the best ways to build a community. It is the time of the day that you get to relax, talk about the experiences of your day and your plans for the future.

Find dinners and events announced on the Slack channel #events. Please announce if you are planning a gathering so others can join too and are aware. Please announce external guests in the Slack channel #visitors.

The building and facilities

We share this building with the team from X-TRA Production. They are essentially our landlords and work in their offices on the 4th floor.

Their team did most of the work setting up our beautiful facilities. If you like it, let them know! They also help us with repairs and maintenance of the building.


There are three floors with a total of 35 rooms. We share the two large kitchens on the 2nd and 3rd floors. To distribute people evenly between the two kitchens, we ask that rooms 318 – 321 use the kitchen on the 2nd floor. All floors are accessible by elevator and stairs.


X-TRA Concert & Party Benefits

As part of the TomoDomo Community in Domo X-TRA, we have partnered with X-TRA Productions AG to offer special benefits for in-house events. This gives you free access to various concerts and parties.


Here’s what you should know:

For general parties, our community receives exclusive entry tickets—we get a certain quota from X-TRA Productions AG in the form of physical, yellow admission tickets. If you’d like to use one, for example for the Roller Disco, ask the community and write your name and room number on the back of the ticket before handing it in at the official entrance to get free admission.


For concerts and certain large parties (such as Street Parade events or Mystica) organized by external promoters, a spot on the guest list is required. You can request this, but it’s not guaranteed and must be confirmed separately each time.


Your annual guest list quota


Each room receives per year:

  • 3 free guest list spots for concerts of your choice (subject to availability)

  • 3 free guest list spots for large parties organized by external promoters

Community members who pay a double occupancy fee receive 3 additional entries for concerts and parties (so a total of 12 entries per year).

This quota applies to each calendar year; once used up, no further entries are possible.


How to request a guest list spot

1) Send an email to info@tomodomo.ch with the following information:

  • Date of the event

  • Name of the artist or party

  • Your first and last name, and room number

2) We will forward your request to X-TRA Productions.

3) You will receive an email response with the decision.

4) If your guest list entry is successful, it will also be listed on the house-wide overview for Domo X-TRA. You can find the list HERE.

We have 3 additional access points that are placed in room 307, 308 and 314.

Forgot your key

In case you forget your key and lock yourself out you may contact your hospitality manager to send you access to a safe with a master key. Please always put back the key immediately after use and lock the safe. In emergencies, please use the emergency hotline:

Parking

We do not have parking onsite. If you register with the city you can get a parking card to park in the blue parking zone

Storage room

We do not have an extra storage room, all your private things need to be
stored in your room.


You can rent additional storage space with our partner PlaceB. With the discount code "TomoDomo24", you will receive 50% off on the first month.

Rubbish

Please only put "Züri Säcke" into the garbage container. Please buy your own bags for your personal trash, the ones in the kitchens are bought with the shared budget. Take the elevator the basement, follow the sign to "Garage". The container is located next to the door when you get outside.

Register

You can register yourself at our address with the city of Zurich. Please contact us via www.tomodomo.ch/support to get a form that confirms you are living at this address. Swiss citizens may also register online: link.

Kitchen storage

You will be provided with a storage box for the fridge and, depending on the food storage outside the fridge an additional food box, drawer or shelf. The community will help you with your space.

Bike storage

The bike storage is through the garden seating area at the X-Tra. We recommend to put a lock on your bike.

Final Cleaning

Please leave the room in a tidy and clean condition so our cleaners can do a good job. The final cleaning of your room was already charged when you moved-in.

In case of additional effort such as descaling, uncloging of drains, stainremoval, moldremoval etc. an additional minimum charge of CHF/h 80.- will apply.

Mailboxes

There is one mailbox for each kitchen. Please always take all mail when you
empty the mailbox and bring it to the respective kitchen.

Communal budget

We have a communal budget of CHF 15 per month and person for purchases of cleaning products, garbage bags, oils, spices, coffee and tea as well as replacement for broken items as pans, knifes, dishes etc. Please reach out to Michi if you are interested to help with this process.

Payment

When you move in you pay your first month and your last month at Domo X-Tra. Each month you will receive an invoice from us for the upcoming month. Payments are due on the first day of each month. Please open a Swiss bank account to save on transfer fees, etc.

Insurance / Damages

You leave a hot pan on the kitchen counter or you drop a heavy object on the floor. Accidents happen quickly and they can cost a lot of money. This is why we partnered with Calingo Insurance to get you a great insurance package, so you don't need to worry. Get your individual insurance at a great price, valid even after you leave.

Departure

The notice period to terminate your lodging is 1 month to the end of the following. Please let us know as soon as possible when you want to leave our community so we have more time to find great new people to move in. Please terminate your booking here. You will then receive a document with departure instructions. Since you already paid for your last months stay, you will notbe charged for your last month with us.

And now... settle in

We hope that you find your way quickly into your new home and make positive and inspiring encounters. Remember, a community needs to be created by its members through effort, participation, contribution and creativity. So let us build something meaningful together.
