TomoDomo (共 々) means “together” in Japanese, Tomo (共) by itself stands for friend and community.

We started this company to create homes for people to connect with each other, enjoy life and grow from shared experiences.

We are more than happy that you are joining this community and that you bring your unique talents, your dreams, your ideas and your joyfulness to the group.

Laura is the Hospitality Manager at TomoDomo X-TRA. She is your go-to person and looks forward to helping you settle in and thrive here.

Important Information for your move

Before your arrival
  • Download the Slack app and join our Slack channel using this link


  • Please sign up as soon as possible and introduce yourself in the #introduction channel with a short message.


  • You’ll receive all necessary move-in details a few days before your arrival. Please let us know your arrival date so we can prepare accordingly.


  • Please bring your own bedding, duvet, and pillow.

Arrival
  • Your check-in is possible from 12:00 PM, as stated in your lodging agreement.


  • Arrival by Car/Uber/Taxi: The address is Limmatstrasse 118, 8005 Zurich. Please note that there is no parking onsite.


  • Arrival by Train/Bus: Take the train to Zurich HB. From there you can take a tram Nr. 4, 6, 8, 11 or 13 to Limmatplatz.


  • Upon arrival, check your room and report any damages or questions via: hub.tomodomo.ch


  • A community member will contact you via Slack and give you a house tour.


  • It’s always appreciated to greet the people you meet, everyone is looking forward to having you here 😊.

Keep it clean
  • One of the key parts of living together is creating a tidy, clean, and welcoming space for everyone.


  • Living with others comes with many benefits, and everyone plays a role in maintaining that “home sweet home” feeling.


  • TomoDomo provides weekly professional cleaning of the shared spaces.


  • However, it's essential that everyone cleans as they go and helps keep spaces tidy.


  • We follow the rule: Leave the space better than you found it, especially after hosting guests or an event.

Community & Socializing
  • One of the most beloved activities in coliving is: cooking, inspiring, chatting (and cleaning!) together.


  • We believe sharing a meal is one of the best ways to build a sense of home and community.


  • It’s a time to relax, reflect on your day, and connect with others.


  • Check the #events channel on Slack for upcoming dinners and gatherings.


  • Planning something yourself? Please post it so others can join in.


  • External guests should be announced in the #visitors Slack channel.

The Building & Facilities
  • We share this building with the team from X-TRA Productions. They are essentially our landlords and work in their offices on the 4th floor.

  • Their team did most of the work setting up our beautiful facilities. If you like it, let them know! They also help us with repairs and maintenance of the building.


  • There are three floors with a total of 35 rooms. We share the two large kitchens on the 2nd and 3rd floors. To distribute people evenly between the two kitchens, everyone from rooms 318 – 321, should use the kitchen on the 2nd floor


  • All floors are accessible by elevator and stairs.


  • X-TRA Concert & Party Benefits

  • As part of the Community in TomoDomo X-TRA, we have partnered with X-TRA Productions AG to offer special benefits for in-house events. This gives you free access to various concerts and parties.


  • Here’s what you should know:

  • For general parties, our community receives exclusive entry tickets - we get a certain quota from X-TRA Productions AG in the form of physical, yellow admission tickets. If you’d like to use one, for example for the Roller Disco, ask the community and write your name and room number on the back of the ticket before handing it in at the official entrance to get free admission.  


  • For concerts and certain large parties (such as Street Parade events or Mystica) organized by external promoters, a spot on the guest list is required. You can request this, but it’s not guaranteed and must be confirmed separately each time


  • Your annual guest list quota:

  • Each room receives per year:

  • 3 free guest list spots for concerts of your choice (subject to availability)

  • 3 free guest list spots for large parties organized by external promoters

  • Community members who pay a double occupancy fee receive 3 additional entries for concerts and parties (so a total of 12 entries per year).

  • This quota applies to each calendar year; once used up, no further entries are possible.


  • How to request a guest list spot

  • 1) Send an email to info@tomodomo.ch with the following information:

  • Date of the event

  • Name of the artist or party

  • Your first and last name, and room number

  • 2) We will forward your request to X-TRA Productions.

  • 3) You will receive an email response with the decision.

  • 4) If your guest list entry is successful, it will also be listed on the house-wide overview for TomoDomo X-TRA. You can find the list HERE.

  • We have 3 additional access points that are placed in room 307, 308 and 314.

Emergencies

Locked out of your room?


  • Call the Emergency Hotline (24/7): +41 44 589 61 16 to gain access to your room in the case of Nuki issues


  • Click HERE (Emergency Contacts in Switzerland)


  • Non-urgent issues:
    We are more than happy to assist you during office hours (Monday–Friday, 08:30 - 17:00)


👉 Remember: Your safety is the priority. For all urgent situations, act immediately and call the emergency services.

Parking
  • We do not have parking onsite. 


  • If you register with the city you can get a parking card to park in the blue parking zone

Storage Room
  • We do not have an extra storage room, all your private things need to be
    stored in your room. 


  • With our partner PlaceB, you can rent additional storage space.
    Use the discount code “TomoDomo24” to get 50% off the first month.

Waste, Garbage & Recycling
  • Only use  "Züri Säcke" - the official Zurich garbage bags 


  • Please buy your own for your personal trash, the ones in the kitchens are bought with the shared commuity budget 



  • Illegally disposed waste is not permitted and will be fined.


  • Take the elevator the basement, follow the sign to "Garage". The container is located next to the door when you get outside.


  • Recycling has never been easier, thanks to our partner WeRecycle


  • The WeRecycle bins can be found in the kitchen. Carboard needs to be recycled seperately in order to save space. The community will gladly show you where to do this.

Registration
  • You can register at the City of Zurich using your residency permit / lodging agreement.


  • Swiss citizens can also register online

Kitchen Storage
  • You will find a compartment in the fridge labeled with your room number. Others, which have no label or are marked as 'Shared Shelf,' are for everyone. 


  • Please just put a date on the product in the 'Shared Shelves' so we can keep an overview. For the food shelf outside the fridge, you will receive a small box."


  • The community will help you find the right space

Bicycle storage
  • The bicycle storage can be found next to the garden-terrace of X-TRA's music café, on the right-hand side of the building. This can only be accessed from the outside


  • We recommend to put a lock on your bike.

Final Cleaning
  • Please leave your room tidy and clean so our team can do a great job


  • The final cleaning fee was already charged when you moved in


  • In case of extra effort (e.g. descaling, unclogging drains, stain or mold removal), an additional minimum fee of CHF 80/hour will apply

Mailboxes
  • There is one mailbox for each floor outside of the building and a designated mail compartment assigned to each room, which can be found at the kitchen.


  • When emptying the mailbox, please always take all the mail and place it in the designated mail compartments.

Shared Community Budget
  • CHF 15 per month per person


  • Used for cleaning supplies, trash bags, oil, spices, coffee, etc.


  • One person coordinates shopping - reach out to Byron if you’d like to help

Payments
  • Your first invoice must be paid in full before checking in


  • You’ll receive a monthly invoice - payment is due on the 1st of each month


  • We recommend opening a Swiss bank account to avoid any additional fees

Insurance & Damages
  • Accidents happen: you might leave a hot pan on the kitchen counter or drop something heavy on the floor. These small accidents cyn lead to big costs!


  • That’s why we partnered with Calingo Insurance to offer you an excellent plan


  • It’s valid even after you leave TomoDomo!

Departure & Booking Termination
  • The notice period for your booking is 1 month effective at the end of the calendar month when the termination is submitted


  • Please let us know as soon as possible when you would to like leave our community so we have more time to find great new people to move in
