TomoDomo (共 々) means “together” in Japanese, Tomo (共) by itself stands for friend and community.
We started this company to create homes for people to connect with each other, enjoy life and grow from shared experiences.
We are more than happy that you are joining this community and that you bring your unique talents, your dreams, your ideas and your joyfulness to the group.

Important Information for your move

Before arrival
Download Slack on your phone and join our Slack channel via this link. Kindly log in as soon as you can and start discovering the community and its members.
Please introduce yourself on Slack with a short message in #introduction.
You will receive an email with your detailed move-in information. Kindly inform us about your exact arrival time and date to make sure that you will have access to the building.
Please bring your own bedsheets, duvet & pillow.

Arrival
Check-in is possible from the start of your booking after 12:00.
Arrival by own car/Uber/Taxi: The address is Hamelirainstrasse 3, 8302 Kloten. For unloading you can use the paid parking of the hotel.
Arrival by train/Bus: There are buses from the airport every 20 minutes and the train S7 running every 30 minutes from Zurich City or Winterthur. The station is called Kloten (not Kloten Balsberg!)
Upon your arrival please check your room and note all damages/questions and enter them at www.tomodomo.ch/support.
A community member will contact you soon via Slack to take you on a proper tour of the house.
Please greet everyone you meet and introduce yourself. Feel free to ask any member you meet any question you have. Remember we are here to help each other.

Keep it clean
One of the key points of living together is creating a tidy, clean and welcoming space for everyone in the community. Living with others comes with many benefits and each and everyone is responsible to create and maintain the „home sweet home“ atmosphere in the house. TomoDomo provides a weekly professional cleaning of the shared spaces. However, it’s important that everyone clean as they go, help keeping the spaces clean and tidy. We love to follow the rule: Leave the common area in better condition than you found it, especially after you hosted an event.

Socializing
One of the most popular activities in the Coliving is....Cooking, inspiring, chatting (and cleaning: ) together. We believe that sharing a meal is one of the best ways to build a community. It is the time of the day that you get to relax, talk about the experiences of your day and your plans for the future.
Find dinners and events announced on the Slack channel #events. Please announce if you are planning a gathering so others can join too and are aware. Please announce external guests in the Slack channel #visitors.

The building and facilities
There are two main floors with 31 rooms each and two large common area with kitchen on each floor. Also there is a laundry and storage room on each floor with 3 washing machines and 3 dryers. There is also a luggage room downstairs. All floors are accessible by elevator and stairs.

Forgot your key
In case you forget your key and lock yourself out, please contact our Emergency Hotline to receive access to a safe with a master key. Please always put the key back immediately after use and lock the safe. In emergencies, please use the emergency hotline:

Parking
A covered parking spot can be added for 160 CHF per month. Contact us via www.tomodomo.ch/support if you wish to book it.

Storage room
The storage room is on the -1 floor under the lobby.

Rubbish
Please only put "Kloten Säcke" into the garbage container. Please buy your own bags for your personal trash, the ones in the kitchens are bought with the shared budget. The container to put the bags is behind the house by the train tracks.

Register
You can register yourself at our address with the city of Kloten using yourcontract. Swiss citizens may also register online: link.

Kitchen storage
You will be provided with a storage box for the fridge and, depending on the food storage outside the fridge an additional food box, drawer or shelf. The community will help you with your space.

Bike storage
The bike storage is located in front of the building, close to the entrance.
We recommend putting a lock on your bike.

Final Cleaning
Please leave the room in a tidy and clean condition so our cleaners can do a good job. The final cleaning of your room was already charged when you moved-in.
In case of additional effort such as descaling, uncloging of drains, stainremoval, moldremoval etc. an additional minimum charge of CHF/h 80.- will apply.

Mailboxes
There is one mailbox for each floor. Please always take all mail when you empty the mailbox and bring it to the smaller mailboxes on the floor.

Communal budget
The community is using Splitwise to pay for shared expenses. You will be added by your community members to the shared Splitwise group. Please regularly settle all outstanding payments.

Payment
You have to pay your first month and deposit before your move in at Domo Tenna. Each month you will receive an invoice from us for the upcoming month. Payments are due on the first day of each month. Please open a Swiss bank account to save on transfer fees, etc.

Insurance / Damages
We have a couple of great discounts with our partners for you!
Insurance:
You leave a hot pan on the kitchen counter or you drop a heavy object on the floor. Accidents happen quickly and they can cost a lot of money. This is why we partnered with Calingo Insurance to get you a great insurance package, so you don't need to worry. Get your individual insurance at a great price, valid even after you leave. Hotel stay:

Departure
The notice period to cancel your room is 2 month from the last day of the month. Please let us know as soon as possible when you want to leave our community so we have more time to find great new people to move in. Please terminate your booking here. You will then receive a document with departure instructions.
