TomoDomo (共 々) means “together” in Japanese, Tomo (共) by itself stands for friend and community.

We started this company to create homes for people to connect with each other, enjoy life and grow from shared experiences.

Byron leads the charge as the Hospitality Manager at TomoDomo Central. He's your go-to person and is thrilled to support you and the Domo Central family.

Important Information for your move

Before your arrival
  •  Download the Slack app and join our Slack channel using this link


  • Please sign up as soon as possible and introduce yourself in the #introduction channel with a short message.


  • You’ll receive all necessary move-in details a few days before your arrival. Please let us know your arrival date so we can prepare accordingly.


  • Please bring your own bedding, duvet, and pillow.

Arrival
  • Your check-in is possible from 12:00 PM, as stated in your lodging agreement.



  • Arrival by Car/Uber/Taxi: The address is Leonhardstrasse 1, 8001 Zurich. Please note that there is no parking onsite.


  • Arrival by Train/Bus: Take the train to Zurich HB. From there you can take a tram Nr. 10, 7 or 6 to Haldenegg.




  • A community member will contact you via Slack and give you a house tour.


  • It’s always appreciated to greet the people you meet, everyone is looking forward to having you here 😊

Keep it clean
  • One of the key parts of living together is creating a tidy, clean, and welcoming space for everyone.


  • Living with others comes with many benefits, and everyone plays a role in maintaining that “home sweet home” feeling.


  • TomoDomo provides weekly professional cleaning of the shared spaces.


  • However, it's essential that everyone cleans as they go and helps keep spaces tidy.


  • We follow the rule: Leave the space better than you found it, especially after hosting guests or an event.

Community & Socializing
  • One of the most beloved activities in coliving is: cooking, inspiring, chatting (and cleaning!) together.


  • We believe sharing a meal is one of the best ways to build a sense of home and community.


  • It’s a time to relax, reflect on your day, and connect with others.


  • Check the #events channel on Slack for upcoming dinners and gatherings.


  • Planning something yourself? Please post it so others can join in.


  • External guests should be announced in the #visitors Slack channel.

The Building & Facilities

  • We are sharing this building with the team of Fred Tschanz AG. They are essentially our landlord and have a hotel on the other side of the building (right-hand side of the lobby). We share the entry with their hotel guests. Please always be respectful of their guests.


  • There are five floors with a total of 56 rooms. We share the four large kitchens on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th floor. The guests on the first floor share the kitchen with those on the 2nd floor. Everyone else has their kitchen on their floor. There is one large laundry room on the first floor with washers and dryers. We do have additional storage in the attic for suitcases and such.


  • All floors are accessible by elevator and stairs. All areas are accessible to all community members, however food items and cooking should take place in the communal kitchen assigned to your floor


Mini Fridges, TVs & AC's:


  • Since this building used to be a hotel, all rooms are fitted with an aircon, and some also have mini fridges and/or TV's. These items were left behind for your convenience and are free to use. However, they are not part of our official services, which means we do not repair, maintain, or replace them. If you’d prefer to have the mini fridge or TV removed, just let us know- we’re happy to assist. Air conditioning units cannot be removed, as they are built into the structure.

Emergency / Locked out?

Locked out of your room?


  • There is an emergency-key in a lockbox which can be found on the outside of the building. It is mounted inside of the bottom-right postbox

  • Call the Emergency Hotline (24/7): +41 44 589 61 16 to gain access to the lockbox with the emergency key inside


  • If your key has been lost, let us know as soon as possible



SALTO Door-lock : Emergency Battery-Replacement Guide:


  • If your lock is not responding, the batteries might have died. If so, the emergency SALTO-Case can be used to regain access and replace the batteries. If you are unsure, check the status of the SALTO-lock


  • The emergency SALTO-Case can be found in the storage room next to the laundry. It is on the shelf in righ-hand corner of the room.


  • Here is a VIDEO on how to change the batteries (can only be done from inside of the room)

  • This GUIDE can assist you if you need to gain access to the room first

👉 Remember: Your safety is the priority. For all urgent situations, act immediately and call the emergency services.

Parking
  • We do not have parking onsite. 


  • If you register with the city you can get a parking card to park in the blue parking zone

Storage Room
  • We do have storage space in the attic on the 6tf floor. You have access with your badge. TomoDomo's storage is clearly labeled and fitted with blue locks. 

  • Please label everything you bring into storage and be mindful of the space for others.

  • The locks can be opened with 2512


  • Please label all your belongings and lock up after using the space.


  • With our partner PlaceB, you can rent additional storage space.

Waste, Garbage & Recycling
  • Only use  "Züri Säcke" - the official Zurich garbage bags 


  • Please buy your own for your personal trash, the ones in the kitchens are bought with the shared commuity budget 


  • Illegally disposed waste is not permitted and will be fined.


  • Recycling has never been easier, thanks to our partner WeRecycle


  • The WeRecycle bins can be found in the kitchen. Carboard needs to be recycled seperately in order to save space. The community will gladly show you where to do this.

Registration
  • You can register at the City of Zurich using your residency permit / lodging agreement at Kreisbüro 1, Stadthausquai 17, 8001 Zürich. 


  • Swiss citizens can also register online

Kitchen Storage
  • You will find a compartment in the fridge labeled with your room number. Others, which have no label or are marked as 'Shared Shelf,' are for everyone. 


  • Please just put a date on the product in the 'Shared Shelves' so we can keep an overview. For the food shelf outside the fridge, you will receive a small box."


  • The community will help you find the right space

Bicycle storage
  • The bicycle room is located on th -2 floor, right next to the recycling bins. You can access it either by stairs or elevator when you are already in the building through the metal door on the ground floor in front of the building. 


  • We recommend to put a lock on your bicycle

Final Cleaning
  • Please leave your room tidy and clean so our team can do a great job


  • The final cleaning fee was already charged when you moved in


  • In case of extra effort (e.g. descaling, unclogging drains, stain or mold removal), an additional minimum fee of CHF 80/hour will apply

Mailboxes
  • There is one mailbox for each floor outside of the building and a designated mail compartment assigned to each room, which can be found at the kitchen.


  • When emptying the mailbox, please always take all the mail and place it in the designated mail compartments.

Shared Community Budget
  • CHF 15 per month per person


  • Used for cleaning supplies, trash bags, oil, spices, coffee, etc.


  • One person coordinates shopping - reach out to Byron if you’d like to help

Payments
  • Your first invoice must be paid in full before checking in


  • You’ll receive a monthly invoice - payment is due on the 1st of each month


  • We recommend opening a Swiss bank account to avoid any additional fees

Insurance & Damages
  • Accidents happen: you might leave a hot pan on the kitchen counter or drop something heavy on the floor. These small accidents cyn lead to big costs!


  • That’s why we partnered with Calingo Insurance to offer you an excellent plan


  • It’s valid even after you leave TomoDomo!

Departure & Booking Termination
  • The notice period for your booking is 1 month effective at the end of the calendar month when the termination is submitted


  • Please let us know as soon as possible when you would to like leave our community so we have more time to find great new people to move in
